Table football

Foosball, table football, table football, trambambula - a 2- or 4-person game that imitates a real football match.

History

The inventor of the game is considered to be the Frenchman Lucien Rosengart (1881-1976), who built the first foosball table (in Europe). Based on this idea, the Swiss company 'Kicker', based in Geneva, created a model of the foosball table. These tables became so popular in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium that the word 'Kicker' became synonymous with table football. The first patent for a table football table is attributed to Alejandro Finisterre (1919-2007) in 1937.

Organisation

In 2002, the ITSF (International Table Soccer Federation) was founded. This organisation has the following objectives: to promote table football as a sport, to regulate the rules of sporting competition (regulations and competition rules) and to seek the inclusion of table football in the IOC list.

In 2009, the Polish Table Football Federation was founded. As an association of associations, the PZFS is involved in the development and popularisation of table football as a sport in Poland and is trying to get table football included in the list of sports of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
